3rd day, back in Quito: being with the parents and kids/ Brincando crianças, seus pais e profissionais

Here at the FUNDECH (Foundation of Pwh  of Ecuador in Quito) i held the workshop for parents, their kids and to young leaders of the foundation.

An interesting topic of a father with a 12 years old boy was: – if I like sports as ever and my son can’t practice them, should I quit? to not upset him or generate envy…?”

My advice as a starting point is to Raise our children within  the respect of the differences and characteristics  of each one, including the parents!

So, I told him, that as a father the best example is to continue practicing what he always liked, so that ADMIRATION can take the place of sadness, or negative envy (because you all know that ENVY can be a positive trigger too, if well understood, for self improvement )

Anyway the topic ‘Suitable activities, in and outdoor ones for kids with severe hemophilia A was discussed intensively.

…..and I am going dear friends! first to QUITO and then to GUAYAQUIL. I was supposed to have been there already in June but the volcano Tungurahua manifested itself in a …let say effusive way and I was scared, not feeling very well to face Mother Nature.

Now , I am ready ! from the 25th to 29th/8…and i”ll share with you what happened there, what we learned together with my  new friends of the MIDDLE OF THE EARTH…

Topics like Prevention and Education, symbolic approach of  hemophilia and its issues, educational and playful tool like Hemoaction cards, starting a psycho social group… I look forward to meet interested people and families with hemophilia.

I am back dear blog, dear travellers….

Back …..July : the XXIX International Hemophilia Congress in Buenos Aires was great but i did too much i believe. I was overwhelmed in the real sense of the word. I had so much to write but no strenght to do so….

I did 4 presentations, meetings for the WFH and for our Psycho social Committee…I met people , incredible people committed to create or work to find new ways to reach more people. This gave me courage and enthusiasm …once more. Here some pics of some moments: presenting, our PSC committee

One of the best animal pictures  selected in Google readers….

He seems contemplating, thinking about serious matters…

Parece pensando, refletindo sobre assuntos sérios…certo ar melancólico! belo animal…

VAMOS BRASIIIIIL ! in socker’s land, but today we LOST….

Bad luck, bad timing in the second period…we lost! games are like that: someone loses for another to win, and it was fair..they played better.

WE CARERS IN HEMOPHILIA TREATMENT  KNOW THAT SOCKER  IS NOT GOOD FOR WHO HAS  severe, moderate hemophilia A or B, unless fitted and on prophylaxis…which is rare here in Brazil! BUT WE  CAN, WE CAN, WE CAN ENJOY OUR BEAUTIFUL WAY OF PLAYING BY ADMIRING OUR IDOLS!VAMOS LA BRASIIIIIIIL, VAMOS HOJE MELHORAR O JOGO??????

BEIJO!

Pequena pesquisa … a little bloody inquiry: plz comment! :)

Is bleeding , or getting hurt physically always a bad thing? Do you remember a movie where “bleeding” was worthed, a scene that you felt good about it ? try to remember…

For me, the bloody scene that I loved was in “300” when the young teenager (13?)  is doing his initiation and has to face alone the big wolf and kill him or be killed!

The scene of the battle when he gets hurt  by the beast… and when at last they are face to face, almost embracing each other in a bath of blood that  touched me . The Spartian is borned.

—————-What about our boys with hemophilia? many kids and teens have told me , that sometimes having a bleeding was worthed because they had to protect a sibling or prove something to themselves in a specific situation, or they had so much fun walking or dancing too much, that they knew something would show up the next day…it is something to think about, we, parents and care givers.

Being a volunteer at the World Federation of Hemophilia /Ser voluntária na Federação Mundial de Hemofilia

NEXT MISSION very possible and enjoyable: QUITO and GUAYAQUIL , REPUBLIC  OF THE EQUATOR.

As a volunteer for the WFH, i have travelled  also to Egypt and Jordan (because I can speak Arabic). Being a volunteer it is something that comes naturally for me, since a teenager , 17, my first experience was 3 months full time at HOSPITAL de Los NIÑOS in Buenos Aires!where the next International Hemophilia Congress will be in July. So as you can see, everything is connected, alive…what I do returns, fructifies, dies and re starts.

brincando, limpando..o corpo fala!
