Being Calm is to be aware of the ego’s sensations and consciously chose to be that way…you can Be calm in the middle of a crazy situation. But  when we are asked to “keep” calm…things are different :)!! it seems that our self is forced to an unnatural state and it is  almost as we  feel not respected! so we usually REACT doing the opposite: losing it.

What can help is to not ACCUMULATE ; little bothering , teasing stuff that we usually swallow…and think they won’t affect us. Being aware , in the present moment , of what is annoying us, helps to get in touch with our breathing and ….we can direct our ENERGY/RAGE to boost our life for better things!

SER …calmo, é ter consciência de que  a gente está mal, nervoso mas é capaz de escolher …as vezes são segundos, mas a gente sabe o que vai fazer e escolhe não atacar, ou age de uma maneira sentindo cada ato. Agora me diz uma coisa: aqui no Brasil sempre falamos para o outro: Calma, calma! que coisa mais irritante!! risos…parece que quando mais pede mais nervoso a gente fica!!! é que nosso Ego não gosta que se desconsidere nosso sentimento de revolta ou de indignação… e parece que ao pedir PARA FICAR CALMO, o outro explode mais ainda!!! que tristeza

LATEST PROJECTS: 1) Launching IN-HEMOACTION flash cards, 2026 updated version where I added new topics like Inhibitors and novel treatments, physiotherapy and a some playful activities like video games! 2) HERO (Hemophilia Experiences Results and Opportunities) sponsored by Novo Nordisk since 2009-2014 Done !exploring through qualitative and quantitative analysis the psychosocial issues involving People with hemophilia, their carers and the health professionals in the treatment process. 2) P-TET (Pediatric Thrombosis Educational Tool) , for kids on anti-coagulant treatment...inspired on IN-HEMOACTION flashcards success. 3) I am a co-author along with psychologist Irene Fuchs and Edward Kuebler of a booklet called "Communication, love and sexuality for people with hemophilia, carriers and family" 4) Done: systematic review for the Cochrane Collaboration :"psychological interventions for people with hemophilia and their families" 5) Actually I counsel people who wants to perform as competition level athlete and collaborate with them seeking wellness and goals On a more personal level I have 3 three great not anymore children :) Danaê 35, Rubi 29 and Iggy 27 and i am since 2019 a pole sport athlete at a national and international level. I love it! also To walk and look for shells on a beach and discovering deserts...:)
