A LETTER

I am really glad to hear from you. I am luckier than many hemophiliac moms out here in Jordan. My husband is a professor, and is very supportive of our sons. I know of some cases where the father does not care for his hemophiliac sons, and out here in southern Jordan some of the people are very closed minded. I never hide my sons condition, and I am very proud of them.

I have been busy, otherwise I would have devoted more of my time to supporting the hemophiliac population here in Al-Kerak. I plan to in the future. Bless you for being so open to all of us here in Jordan. Here in my husband’s home town, we have some wonderful nurses and doctors who work in the Kerak Hospital. People here just need to be encouraged to not be afraid of what is not familiar. They really are good people, the Jordanians. images-2

I hope that things will become better for the children in the future. I personally don’t know anyone who has hemophilia out where I live, but people are so secretive. I want my sons to proud of who they are, not who others would like them to be. If you would like to print my letter, go right ahead. And I’d love to meet anyone who is hemophiliac or the moms out there who must feel as isolated as I have. Thank you, and I hope to hear from you soon, maybe I can be of help someday.”images-3
